How can we help?
Huurpaspoort (rental passport) is an online tool for you as a home seeker. Which lets your create an online profile to respond to rental residences. This profile consists of all the data that is needed for a homeowner or broker, to determine if you are a good candidate. For example, your yearly salary, household composition and previous home addresses.
At this moment, the only way to create a Huurpaspoort, is through a link from the broker/estate agent. Look on their websites to see if they are connected to Huurpaspoort.
The verification code will be shown after filling out the Huurpaspoort questions. Finish the whole process through a link from your broker/estate agent and you will be shown a code. The code will be valid for 10 minutes. You can refresh the code with the grey arrow.
Is your Google Play or Appstore account registered in a different country than the Netherlands? You will be possibly not see our app. You can change the country in your account, look for this in the settings.
It can take multiple days for your account settings to be changed.
You can also ask a friend or family member to lend you their phone.
Due to a more strict inlogmethod from the UWV, currently, this information can only be requested via sms-verification. You can check for yourself, by logging into the DigiD environment, if you have the sms-verification enabled. Under ‘SMS verification’ you will see ‘Active’ or ‘Inactive’.
Is your SMS verification disabled? That means that your data cannot be collected from the UWV.
By using the app to log in with your DigiD-account you will fill in the necessary data yourself. You will collect your data from MijnOverheid, Belastingdienst and Mijn UWV. You have insight into which data will be shared from governmental sources and which will be saved in your Huurpaspoort. You will then be able to provide insight for your broker/estate agent, in a safe manner.
Before you are able to rent a residence, the owner would like to know who you are. Normally the broker, estate agent or owner will ask you for the following data:
- Address history
- Payslips or payment specification
- Bank statements
- Annual income tax statement
- Landlord reference
- Mortgage statement
- Income statement
- Employment contract
- Employer’s statement
- Basic person registration
- IB60 tax form/IBRI tax form
You could collect those documents yourself from the different organizations. You would have to collect them during business hours, and it can be confusing which data is needed exactly. In short, this can be a time-consuming process.
This process can possibly be faster, safer and more efficient. That is why we developed Huurpaspoort.
In just 10 minutes you can collect your own data in your personal Huurpaspoort. You share the profile with the landlord, who can instantly judge you as suitable candidate.
Through the mobile app you will be asked to log into DigiD. Huurpaspoort, the app or the landlord, will not be able to look into your DigiD-account. The mobile app is not able to remember your data, it’s just a tool to help you create your Huurpaspoort. The data in your Huurpaspoort can only be viewed by yourself and the broker/estate agent you assigned.
Only with your explicit permission, are we, from Huurpaspoort, allowed to view your profile.
Through the mobile app, you will log into your DigiD. This way you will collect your data yourself from the three important governmental sources:
The mobile app will automatically sign out and will delete sensitive data after you’re done.
When creating your Huurpaspoort, you get the option to invite co-habitants. Who will receive their own link to create their Huurpaspoort. That way, all members with a Huurpaspoort will be linked under the same household.
Did something go wrong? Or would you like to invite someone, later on in the process? That is possible, just contact our Help & Service team, so we can arrange this for you.

- Saving time. No more collecting documents from different sources, no more sending your sensitive data in an unsecure manner, no more monitoring your data and checking if your broker/estate agent has received them. And no more waiting;
- Instantly add the required verified data. This prevents typos or accidently handing in wrong information;
- Your data will be stored in a secure environment. There is no need to add data to an email or hand it in on paper. Only you and the broker/estate agent can view your data;
- Your data will be collected in one spot. This prevents your data from laying around in different organizations. Also, you get to decide when the broker/estate agent loses its right to view your profile;
Through Huurpaspoort you collect the required data yourself. You will sign into MijnOverheid, to collect your personal data, address history and identification documents. The Belastingdienst will let you collect registered incomes from the past three years, and if applicable, a mortgage statement. Via UWV you will collect your most recent employees and monthly payments.
Huurpaspoort wants the broker/estate agent to only be able to see the tenant’s necessary data. That is why we constantly work on ways to limit the amount of information viewable.
Huurpaspoort has appropriate measures, both technical and organizational, to secure your personal data from theft or any form of unlawful processing. Want to know more about those measures? You can read about them in our privacystatement.
Because our mobile app does not store data, your data will be lost. Therefore, it’s possible, in case an error occurs, you’ll have to start over. This can be bothersome, but it’s for your own good. As we do not wish to keep your data stored when it’s not needed.
After you completed your Huurpaspoort, you will receive an email with your account information. So, you can view your own Huurpaspoort. Do you think there is something wrong with your data? Or did an error occur? Please contact our Help & Service team.
It is by law not allowed for third parties (in this case Huurpaspoort) to sign into governmental sources on your behalf. That is why you’ll have to log in yourself, multiple times with your DigiD. Huurpaspoort does help you out a bit, by asking if you wish the app to remember your data during your session. You’ll have to fill in your sign in data one time, and it will already be filled in for the next steps. You do have to click the sign in button yourself. This information will not be stored after the session expires or is finished. So, when you close off the app, all data will be removed from it!
